Students and student athletes at West Islip’s Paul J. Bellew Elementary School collected warm winter wear during the holiday season. New hats, gloves, scarves and cozy socks were used to decorate a holiday tree in the school’s main lobby. The donations were later given to the community outreach office at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Wyandanch. “Without a doubt, our Mitten Tree was beautiful, and the spirit of giving and kindness shines bright within our school community” said Principal Rhonda Pratt.
